Friday Night School is completely administered and managed by volunteers, allowing the operations to be run at minimal cost.

Finance and Operating Costs

Friday Night School has been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient, and endorsed also for charity tax concessions.

Thanks to the generous financial help and services from our supporters our operating and administrative costs are very low. Overheads are kept to an absolute minimum, ensuring that all donated funds are used solely to provide the education material and supporting structure to run the Friday Night School.


An overview of operating costs for the financial year ended 30 June 2013 amounts to:

  • less than $500 – Administration;
  • approx $60,000 – running the school on Fridays, the camps, the end of year party and text books and stationery;
  • over $112,000 – provided by the Scholarship Fund towards school fees and other educational expenses for the scholarship students.
